Funding target for EWS Sonnenfeld Pischelsdorf reached in record time!
The interest was great and the funding target for the partial financing of the largest agri-PV system for grassland and farmland was reached in a very short time! An extremely high share of 36% of the investment volume was ultimately subscribed by citizens of Pischelsdorf.
Gerhard Steindl, EWS Managing Director: "We are very pleased that the opportunity for citizens to participate in our Agri-PV system has been so well received, especially by the local population. Because that was also our intention: above all, the citizens of the local community should benefit directly from the project. The high proportion of local residents also reflects the local recognition and appreciation of the project. This in turn encourages us to realise further EWS Sonnenfelder® with participation opportunities in the coming years. I would like to thank all investors for their trust and great commitment!"
Showcase agri-PV plant ensures ecological, local energy generation
In addition to generating solar power, an EWS Sonnenfeld® such as the one in the municipality of Pischelsdorf am Engelbach is also about the preservation and continued use of good grassland and farmland. 80% of the area will continue to be used for agriculture and 18% as biodiversity strips. With an actual area requirement of only 2% for solar power generation, the EWS solar field in Pischelsdorf with an output of 4.58 MWp will feed around 6 million kWh into the grid every year from spring 2025, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of around 1,680 households.
Why is regionally generated, CO2-free energy production from wind and sun a worthwhile investment in a bright future?
- Much more emission-free power generation, greater energy efficiency and energy saving are still needed to satisfy the constantly growing energy consumption.
- In order to stop the progression of global warming, it is necessary to push ahead with the rapid expansion of renewable energies in line with national and European climate targets and implement projects quickly.
- We can only achieve independence from expensive, dirty energy imports by utilising free and infinitely available domestic resources such as wind, sun and water.
- Renewable energies strengthen Upper Austria's domestic business location. In addition to CO2 pricing, an ESG report (which stands for Environmental, Social, Governance) is also becoming increasingly important as a central component for the sustainable orientation of modern companies.
- Regional renewable projects create good jobs, offer greater electricity price stability and ensure greater energy supply security.
