As an experienced coordinator, we make sure all trades on your storage construction site interlock optimally. From foundations to commissioning, we look after occupational safety, coordinate the companies involved and take on the agreed coordination tasks under the Construction Works Coordination Act (BauKG); the client's responsibility for its statutory obligations remains unaffected. We monitor the statutory requirements (BauKG, SiGe plan) and check the mandatory notifications.
On a storage construction site, several companies work hand in hand from foundations to electrical commissioning. The Construction Works Coordination Act (BauKG) obliges clients to ensure safety and health protection when employees of several employers work on the site. A planning coordinator for the preparation phase and a site coordinator for the execution phase must be appointed in writing; relevant training and at least three years of professional experience are required. Responsibility remains with the client, and the coordinators are each responsible only for their construction phase. Our coordination avoids hazards and obstruction between the trades. The client can transfer certain obligations to a project manager, one person can take on planning and site coordination at the same time, and even for construction projects not subject to prior notice, the person appointed must demonstrate the required training and professional experience. Hazards change as construction progresses, from civil works through the installation of heavy containers and modules to the electrical work before commissioning.
The site coordinator coordinates accident prevention during execution, ensures that employers and self-employed persons apply the safety and health plan (SiGe plan), organises cooperation and information among the companies and adapts the SiGe plan and the file to construction progress. He takes measures so that only authorised persons enter the site and informs the client of hazards. The SiGe plan is required for construction sites subject to prior notice and also for work involving special hazards, such as near high-voltage lines. The prior notice to the labour inspectorate is provided for where work lasts more than 30 working days with more than 20 employees at the same time, or where it exceeds 500 person-days. It is submitted at least two weeks before work starts, must be displayed visibly on site and adapted when changes occur. It states, among other things, the location, client, coordinators, start and duration, maximum number of employees and the companies involved. If identified defects cannot be remedied, the site coordinator can call on the labour inspectorate, which is the competent authority. Once battery systems are connected, it must be borne in mind that they can be live, which restricts access in the event of faults. Changes in the construction sequence are updated in the SiGe plan so that everyone concerned has access to the current status.
