A major Agri-PV project in Upper Austria, carried out as part of a long-standing partnership between Energie AG OÖ and EWS.

As a regional and independent consultancy specialising in wind and agri-PV installations, as well as storage and grid technology, EWS delivers state-of-the-art solutions. Our focus is on maximum land efficiency and project planning and implementation that minimises impact on the land. From the initial idea through to operation. With large-scale turnkey (agri-)PV plants, we deliver site-optimised solutions including a comprehensive service package for our clients, as is the case with EWS Sonnenfeld Mining.

Energie AG CEO Leonhard Schitter at the ground-breaking ceremony for the EWS Sonnenfeld Mining project: “With Sonnenfeld Mining – currently the largest agri-PV plant in Upper Austria – we at Energie AG, together with EWS from Munderfing, are making an important contribution to the transformation of the energy supply and to strengthening Upper Austria as a business location.”

Yield data for EWS Sonnenfeld Mining

  • 14.9 ha for agricultural use (80 %)
  • 3.1 ha dedicated to enhancing biodiversity (flower strips, bee pastures, fallow land) (18 %)
  • 0.1 ha for solar power generation (2 %)
  • CO₂ savings of 151,000 t over 20 years

Public participation as an EWS initiative

For the second time (the first being at the EWS Sonnenfeld project in Pischesldorf am Engelbach), EWS has offered a public participation scheme for its part of the plant – comprising around 4.3 MWp and generating 5.6 million kWh of electricity annually – to help finance the project. Once again, the funding target was reached in a short space of time via the investing green platform, with a sensational 88 per cent of the regional population participating.&

Even with small contributions, residents were able to participate directly in the green electricity project in their local community and enhance their own living environment through a sustainable climate protection project. With the option of crowd investing, featuring an exclusive priority subscription period for the local population , we are offering an attractive opportunity which, as we can see, is being taken up very well. We would like to thank all investors for their trust and support!
