The Tauernwindfarm Oberzeiring is a very special project for us. Back in 2002, we were entrusted with the planning and implementation of what was then the highest wind farm in Europe at 1,920 metres above sea level. The demanding weather conditions, an 11.8-kilometre-long access road with an altitude difference of 900 metres and a 20.9-kilometre-long grid line presented us with planning challenges.
15 years later, we were able to accompany the project again - our experts took over the complete planning and construction management for the repowering of the wind farm. 13 Vestas V66 turbines were replaced with 9 Vestas V112 turbines as part of the repowering. The further technical development of the turbine technology significantly increases the yield and profitability of the project.
Project highlights
- All material authorisations were obtained within a very short time.
- Development of a well thought-out transport and logistics concept based on the challenging and logistics concept due to the challenging conditions on site.
- Customised production of the tower segments based on the results of the route study / route simulation.
- The dismantling and erection of the installations followed a strict schedule, adapted to the alpine weather conditions.
- In this case, the circular economy means the complete dismantling of the old facilities and construction as an affordable "second-hand product" at a different location.
- Special consideration for nature - the alpine turf was preserved and reused.
