With energy into the future
The wind farm Munderfing in the Upper Austrian district of Braunau is a real showcase project: it is the first wind farm in Austria to be majority-owned by a municipality - a milestone for regional energy independence and a real commitment to the local community. What is special about this: all residents benefit from the municipality's involvement - even those who would otherwise not be able to actively participate. A strong signal for a sustainable, community-driven energy transition!
Project highlights
- The project area is located on a wooded, hilly ridge. Impacts on nature and the forest area were minimised during planning and construction.
- The wind farm is 75.2 % owned by the municipality, 14.7 % by Energie AG and 10.1 % by Energiewerkstatt GmbH.
- Our biology team was involved in the planning from the very beginning. Detailed ornithological and bat surveys ensured the highest level of nature compatibility.
- Development of a customised wind measurement concept, consisting of state-of-the-art mast and LiDAR technology, for the precise measurement of site-specific wind conditions and the creation of a reliable database for well-founded decisions and maximum project performance.
- Comprehensive and forward-looking preparation of all authorisation-relevant documents in accordance with material law as well as active, solution-oriented support during the official procedures.
- Comprehensive support for the client in the procurement and construction of the turbines as well as in securing sustainable project financing.
- Management of technical operations by a team of EWS experts.
